How I learned to be a Sensitive Sleep Consultant in Hong Kong

0ne of our students in Hong Kong reflects on her experience...
Being a sensitive sleep consultant is not that easy as I imagine before. At first, I thought clients would tell me directly what the problems or difficulties they are facing with, but in fact, they could only describe what is happening to their child, and don’t know what they did would affect their child’s sleep quality. I have to investigate like an inspector, ask many questions and observe the environment that what would affect their child’s sleep. Apart from that, sometimes I have to soothe parents emotions as they might feel frustrated when their child weren’t sleeping well. I was so nervous when I first started to consult a client. I revised the listening and communication skills that taught from this programme again, which was very useful that could make me feel confident when I am consulting with client. There is no doubt about “practice makes perfect.â
